The Missouri Academy of Science, Mathematics and Computing (MASMC) is an early entrance to college program that serves Missouri high school juniors and seniors along with international students from Panama, China, and South Korea. The Academy is a tough program. Students go through a rigorous application process before being accepted, and afterwards, have to maintain at least a 2.5 college GPA while taking upper-level Math and Science courses. The Academy is a vital asset to Missouri, and the US’, growth and expansion in the STEM field. But our funding is being cut drastically for the next year.
Currently the Academy serves approximately 150 students. When the Academy began back in 2000 Missouri Residents didn’t have to pay to get a head start on their education. This year, students have to pay anywhere from 20-43% of the cost for them to attend the school. Next year, the price jumps drastically to 48-71%.
I am lucky to call myself a senior at the Missouri Academy. In May, I will graduate with my Associate of Science with an emphasis in Math and my high school diploma. If this price hike had occurred a year earlier I would not be able to graduate in May. I would not have been able to return for this year at all.
Please. There are about 100 students in the first year class (Class of 2013) and many will not be able to return because of this budget cut.
If you could stop scrolling for five minutes and sign your name on this petition, it would greatly help our chances of getting something done.
The Academy is a safe place. It’s not just a school. It’s my home, and it’s why I came out. The Academy is something that is so amazing and fantastic, and I can’t bare to see it being destroyed. Please help us.
So I know this is kind of unrelated but… WE NEED THE HELP OF THE FANDOMS.

Edit: I know some of you were saying that this was wrong, and that it is actually more accurate to keep the value as a fraction. You’re right! Though I think the circumstances of whether or not it’s okay to convert can be a bit subjective.
But what sauniell and I meant was that we just felt better converting the fractions to a decimal for a more specific, clear-cut answer. That’s why we said “seems more accurate”.

Guys, I’m eating cookies and milk and my cat is watching me.
I know she’s just waiting for me to drop the cookie inside the milk so it can get all mushy and then I’ll have to take it out with a spoon.
I just know that’s what she’s waiting for.
And then it’ll probably happen and she’ll just be like, ugh, moron, way to drop your cookie into the glass of milk. Oh, now you’re going to try to fish it out with a spoon? You seem to think you’re a clever human, don’t you? Well you’re not, because if you were a clever human then you wouldn’t have dropped your cookie into your glass of milk. I can’t believe this is the loser that pours me food everyday, I mean how are you even smart enough to open a bag of cat food if you’re not smart enough to not drop your cookie into your glass of milk?
